Let’s Do Something this weekend West Virginia!
Here’s your most recent installment of a new, weekly guide to do stuff from Vandaleer.com.
The Mountain State Forest Festival
October 1-9 – Elkins
Saturday is “Banjos, Burgers and Beers”. Done and Done.
West Virginia State Farm Museum Country Fall Festival
Saturday and Sunday – Point Pleasant
This one is unique – there’s a “mow-in”, see the third largest horse ever to have lived and enjoy some home made apple butter.
Saturday 10-3pm – Huntington
Bring your appetite as smoky scents of cast iron cooking will fill the Farm! Area chefs will face off in this regional competition as you get a taste of how our Appalachian ancestors used an open fire to create the finest cuisine.
As with all Way Back Weekends, Heritage Farm’s award-winning museums and interactive exhibits will be open for exploration! New and exciting experiences await at West Virginia’s first Smithsonian Affiliate, including a Six Simple Machines Discovery Zone, Generations Hall’s 20th Century murals, and state-of-the-art MakerSpace.
Saturday 3pm – White Sulphur Springs
You can’t go wrong with delicious food, cold beer, and great music.
Saturday 3:30pm – Morgantown
Since joining the Big 12 Conference in 2012, West Virginia (3-0) has beaten every team in the league outside of two and the Mountaineers will look to end one of those streaks this weekend against Kansas State (2-1).
Rasta Rafiki with The Mike Pushkin Band
Sunday 9pm – Charleston
Head to the Empty Glass to enjoy music from Rasta Rafiki, who strives to produce music that is equally appealing to the mind as well as the body. Since our inception, we’ve attempted to bring our music to as wide an audience as possible with the express purpose of promoting peace, equality, and understanding in an ever desensitized world, while at the same time supplying a healthy dose of fun!!
